Paradeigma C4–1 – Humanum® Giorgia Fiorio © 2016
Giorgia Fiorio has developed a twenty-six–year research around the human figure across fifty-six countries.
The project Men, 1999-2000, on male closed communities in the Western society regroups a series of monographs in the anthology Figurae.
The Gift, whose book received in 2009 the UNESCO patronage 2000-2010, explores the ritual expression of Belief around the world.
The in-progress project Humanum® reconsiders the semantic heritage of human “figuration” in archaic statuary in the perception of our time. Since 2012 Fiorio has cooperated with The National Archaeological Museum and The Acropolis Museum of Athens; the Musée du Louvre in Paris; the Iraq Museum of Baghdad and Kunsthistorisches Museum KHM in Wien.
Founder and Director from 2002 to 2012 of the contemporary photography international seminar Reflexions Masterclass and Faculty at ICP New York from 2007 to 2015, Fiorio is currently Professional Affiliate of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa, for the development of project Humanum in collaboration with the Department of Humanities of Ca’ Foscari University, Venice.
